WHY DO WE TEACH

Programmable Logic Controls Training

One of my close coworkers from another job I had ended up losing his job because the company downsized and he could not find work. Not because there was no work to be had but because the work that was being offered was wanted programming experience.

This ended up costing him just about everything he owned until he found work close to a year later and was in a world of debt.

This was not at all my responsibility to help him but I started teaching him the ins and outs of programming and I am happy to say he is one of the lead people in controls where he currently works.

This led me to start making YouTube videos about programming with Allen Bradley software and two years later I started making PLC and HMI programming courses because I never wanted to see someone have to go through what my friend did.

No one should have to worry when their next paycheck is coming from so I made it my mission to change the way I thought from getting ready to stay ready.

Making programming courses not only help the people that take them but it challenges me to be better each and every video, I highly enjoy helping people so this is why I am still doing this today. To make a difference and help as many people as I can.

I feel sure when you take my courses that you will be 10 times better than you were when you started, not having the worry on your shoulder about what you don’t know but now having the confidence to pursue whatever you wanted in PLC programming or in the field of controls.

Where do I consider myself?

This is a question I often ask myself and feel that with respect to the world and the industry that we all should, it is good to step outside ourselves for a minute every now and then to see where we were and where we are. With this approach, we can easily see that with everything that we know and learn that we still have so much to learn still.

After 18 years of programming with Rockwell Automation software and others like it, I have come to the conclusion that the more I know, the more I realize that I don’t know.

This thought alone is what drives my interest to learn more and to do more but also give back to the industry and help others, for every bit of knowledge I share, the more I get back in return so I can give more the next time and so the process continues.

What is my goal with this my efforts?

My efforts are to help spread as much knowledge as I can with ladder logic, function block diagrams, structured text, sequential function charts, and FactoryTalk HMI systems along with integrating them together.

So what is the catch……

There is none but you are more than welcome to look but your time would be better spent learning with my videos and articles then trying to see if this is just a marketing game for some big scheme like other places.

Truth is, there are ways that I make money from teaching but only if you decide to purchase a course but with that being said, I put that money right back into buying new training equipment or software to make the videos and such…..Really, I don’t see a dime which is why I still have a day job.

What, you still have a day job?

Yes, just like everyone else I work about 50 to 60 hours a week and still find the time to make YouTube videos, articles, website edits, and training courses……Why?

Because I truly do want to make an impact in helping someone learn plc programming and better their lives.

Why not?

If I can at least reach back and help ten people have a better life and those ten people reach out to ten people and the process continues then before long we can all have a better way of life from automation and from helping others.

I do truly believe in that and is why I built this website, there is a ton of information here without buying a single thing but if you need structure in what you learn then getting one of my training courses might be a better opportunity for you.

I know I learn better with a well laid out plan when in a training course so I structure them in a way to fit a university tested process of comprehension.

Servo Motion Mastery Review 8

Allen Bradley PLC Training Review 1

My thoughts about automation

From the time I started my career I knew that programming PLC’s doing automation for better machinery performance with something that I was meant to do. I think partly because it’s always the factor of using your imagination and coming up with a creative way to solve a problem.

Oftentimes we grow up, we go to jobs or careers that we forget who we are as people & what we wanted to be when we were kids.

Having the ability to troubleshoot for a creative solution or either just come up with the program from scratch to make equipment run better, using automation has always been a driving force to that solution. See the good side to automation these days is the amount of information on the Internet that can help you learn or even solve a problem quickly is what makes the difference in programming are troubleshooting.

We often struggle through things that we don’t have to when it comes to programming PLC’s or even troubleshooting, One of the key reasons why I started this website along with my YouTube channel is to help spread that knowledge of things that might not have been on the Internet before.

Along with keeping a running tab of projects and things that I’ve learned along my way in case I ever have to go back and look because as we grow older, we find ourselves often having to look back to remember things that we’ve done before.

What better way to do that than to put all your knowledge that you have on the Internet to share with others and to use yourself.

Especially, how fast technology is growing and changing to fit the needs of the industry along with components that are going obsolete that are somewhat forcing us to upgrade no matter what PLC brand you use.

Of course, my expertise is with Rockwell Automation Simply because that’s what I have worked with for over 18 years in your experience may be in Siemens or direct PLC, or another brand, but the same facts apply to all of us.

We all do automation and we all are trying to simplify the way we do things to get the best result for the processes and equipment we work on.

So, when I first started online PLC support.com I didn’t necessarily start it to be as big and as widespread as it has been, it has grown through questions on the Internet from this website or from my YouTube channel or my Facebook page. Even five years later after I made this website, I often Come back to some of the old videos that I’ve made myself remember how things have been done and what I can do to better them.

I’m sure you can agree that no matter what your level of experience is that learning something is important but is not easy, so, when you finally learn it you want to keep it. What better way to do that than to utilize the Internet and the power of YouTube to help everyone?

Whatever your PLC, HMI, or communications needs or with automation, I am making sure that I document as much as I possibly can.

I welcome you to visit us as much as you would need to help you learn and grow and the PLC automation field
