WHY DO I HELP TEACH PLC TRAINING

One of my close coworkers from another job I had ended up losing his job because the company downsized and he could not find work. Not because there was no work to be had but because the work that was being offered was wanted programming experience. This ended up costing him just about everything he owned until he found work close to a year later and was in a world of debt.

This was not at all my responsibility to help him but I started teaching him the ins and outs of programming and I am happy to say he is one of the lead people in controls where he currently works.

This led me to start making YouTube videos about programming with Allen Bradley software and two years later I started making PLC and HMI programming courses because I never wanted to see someone have to go through what my friend did. No one should have to worry when their next paycheck is coming from so I made it my mission to change the way I thought from getting ready to stay ready.

Making programming courses not only help the people that take them but it challenges me to be better each and every video, I highly enjoy helping people so this is why I am still doing this today. To make a difference and help as many people as I can.

I feel sure when you take my courses that you will be 10 times better than you were when you started, not having the worry on your shoulder about what you don’t know but now having the confidence to pursue whatever you wanted in PLC programming or in the field of controls.

Where do I consider myself?

This is a question I often ask myself and feel that in respect to the world and the industry that we all should, it is good to step outside ourselves for a minute every now and then to see where we were and where we are. With this approach, we can easily see that with everything that we know and learn that we still have so much to learn still.

After 15 years of programming with Rockwell Automation software and other like it, I have come to the conclusion that the more I know, the more I realize that I don’t know.

This thought alone is what drives my interest to learn more and to do more but also give back to the industry and help others, for every bit of knowledge I share, the more I get back in return so I can give more the next time and so the process continues.

What is my goal with this my efforts?

My efforts are to help spread as much knowledge as I can with ladder logic, function block diagrams, structured text, sequential function charts, and FactoryTalk HMI systems along with integrating them together.

So what is the catch……

There is none but you are more than welcome to look but your time would be better spent learning with my videos and articles then trying to see if this is just a marketing game for some big scheme like other places.

Truth is, there are ways that I make money from teaching but only if you decide to purchase a course but with that being said, I put that money right back into buying new training equipment or software to make the videos and such…..Really, I don’t see a dime which is why I still have a day job.

What, you still have a day job?

Yes, just like everyone else I work about 50 to 60 hours a week and still find the time to make YouTube videos, articles, website edits, and training courses……Why?

Because I truly do want to make an impact in helping someone learn plc programming and better their lives.

Why not?

If I can at least reach back and help ten people have a better life and those ten people reach out to ten people and the process continues then before long we can all have a better way of life from automation and from helping others.

I do truly believe in that and is why I built this website, there is a ton of information here without buying a single thing but if you need structure in what you learn then getting one of my training courses might be a better opportunity for you.

I know I learn better with a well laid out plan when in a training course so I structure them in a way to fit a university tested process of comprehension.
